Grand Resort Bad Ragaz: Two Contrasting Trips
Sitting in the foothills of the Swiss Alps, Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is Europe’s leading luxury clinical wellness & spa resort. It’s famed as an idyllic escape for travellers seeking tranquillity, rejuvenation, and a total ‘unwind”. This year, Grifco hosted two press trips to Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, inviting journalists to experience it from different perspectives: one focused on a traditional wellness and spa journey, and the second centred on family-friendly stories.
We were keen to showcase that the Resort – one of the agency’s longest-standing clients (for over 20 years) – is rich in narrative and experiences, focussed on tailoring itineraries for a diverse array of guests of all ages and needs – a sanctuary for every generation.
Press Trip 1: The Ultimate Wellness & Spa Experience
In March 2024, Grifco hosted a wellness-focused group press trip. The resort is known as a world-class leader in clinical wellness innovation, supporting healthy lifestyle habits guests can incorporate long after their stay. This includes medical and rehabilitation itineraries as well as those that range from unwinding in the thermal baths, indulging in an array of spa treatments or recharging at the saunas. The resort also offers innovative treatments such as the Haki Flow and NEWYOU Method program, where personalised packages are tailored to each guest’s lifestyle, incorporating the latest in preventive and complementary medical therapies.
For this group press trip, Grifco secured a wide range of wellness media including Tatler, Aspire and MoneyWeek with journalists ranging in age and gender. The resort curated specific itineraries to cater to each journalist, keeping in mind their background and expertise. Though March is typically cold and snowy in Switzerland, the group engaged in outdoor activities.
The resort is just a short scenic train ride from Zurich airport – and guests were greeted with an overwhelming sense of zen as well as fun. Its healing powers were already at work the moment we entered the stunning glass-decorated lobby. Our group experienced a range of activities including water tasting with the hotel’s very own water sommelier, leisure time at the Tamina Therme, incredible fine dining at Verve by Sven Wassmer, one of the many Michelin-starred restaurants at the resort, as well as an assortment of expert treatments ranging from beauty to massage and aromatherapy to the signature Haki Flow treatment, showcasing just why Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is a world-class destination for wellness and a leader in innovative treatments.
Feeling completely rejuvenated, we all floated on cloud 9 back to London.
Press Trip 2: Discovering Family-friendly Wellness
Born in Switzerland, I was especially eager to return and experience the country through the eyes of an adult. For our family-angled press trip, Grifco secured top-tier publications including Good Housekeeping and Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine, each with their own focuses and angles for articles in print and online.
Grifco and the resort collaborated in drafting itineraries for the trip, ensuring each journalist could immerse themselves in the experiences relevant to their audiences— especially how the resort’s high-end spa facilities intersect with family-friendly amenities.
From our first breakfast at Olives d’Or, their buffet-style restaurant, we were shown the dedicated children’s area for food, with mini pastries and juices. We also discovered children can have a supervised lunch, which comes complete with a child-sized buffet counter. When it comes to wellness, the resort offers beauty and hair treatments for children and teenagers as well as full access to the Tamina Therme spa for the whole family. There is a dedicated family spa, thoughtfully designed with child-sized spa loungers and robes, offering children under sixteen their own space to unwind and have fun. The various swimming pools, filled with therapeutic thermal water from the Tamina Gorge, provide endless entertainment for all ages. With its exceptional amenities for children, the resort truly demonstrates its ability to cater to young guests when it comes to wellness and luxury.
Conclusion
The results? Both visits were a huge success, proving that Grand Resort Bad Ragaz consistently delivers exceptional, tailor-made experiences for guests of all ages. The resulting media coverage has been outstanding. For the wellness-focused trip, articles like “Rejuvenation Awaits at Grand Resort Bad Ragaz” in MoneyWeek and “A Remedy for the Body and Soul” in Aspire Magazine captured the essence of the resort’s restorative qualities. Following the family-friendly trip, story angles included “Switzerland’s Best Wellness Hotel for Children” in H&N Magazine, “Babymooning at Grand Resort Bad Ragaz” for Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine, and “Five-Star Elegance and Relaxation for the Whole Family” in Silver Magazine.
Moving forward, Grifco consistently brainstorms new stories to keep stories for the resort current beyond wellness. These include focuses on its culinary excellence as well as the surrounding cultural experiences and outdoor adventure.
Currently, we have partnered with various tourism organisations to curate a twin-centre press trip in 2025 along with a hotel in Lake Como, using the Bernina Express train to connect these two “Grand Dame” hotels in their contrasting locations.
