A Postcard from… Amada Colossos
Set on the east coast of the Greek Island of Rhodes in Kallithea, Amada Colossos is a five-star resort boasting luxury, authenticity and an unrivalled position overlooking a stretch of turquoise waters, golden sands and beautiful mountainsides – I was lucky enough to spend two blissful nights here and soak up all of what this impressive resort had to offer.
Despite its grand size, from the moment I arrived I was instantly made to feel at home as I was warmly welcomed by the staff at Amada Colossos and, after being asked to leave my luggage with concierge, was escorted to the outdoor terrace of the stylish Executive Lounge to enjoy a refreshing cocktail and traditional Greek nibbles, all whilst overlooking the beach ahead – the Executive Lounge is accessible to all those booking the Elite and Diamond collections. In a matter of moments, I felt relaxed and refreshed.
I was then shown to my room, one of the Sea View Family Rooms which enjoy a spacious balcony and panoramic views, a sleek bathroom with a walk-in shower and lavish bathtub, and a luxurious King size bed. The aesthetic of the rooms, suites and public areas have been designed with style and sophistication in mind yet with a perfect balance of contemporary and authentic finishing touches. Unique pieces of art and décor are tastefully displayed throughout the space, with materials locally sourced.
After settling in, I eagerly headed for the beach to bask in the glorious Greek sunshine. The beach is conveniently located just a matter of steps away from the resort’s grounds. Here, I had access to one of the beach’s Grand Gazebos, where I stretched out on a sun lounger in the shade in total privacy (and with cocktail in hand!).
Guests of Amada Colossos are spoilt for choice as they have the option of a range of international cuisines. There are three gourmet restaurants – Greek, Italian and Asian – as well as eight different bars. The Executive Lounge’s outdoor terrace made the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast with a view each morning, whilst a special outdoor dining experience was enjoyed at the resort’s beautiful Asian restaurant, where I sampled mouth-watering plates of authentic Asian dishes under a blanket of stars above.
With three different collections and various types of accommodation catering to all group types, as well as an extensive choice of dining options, spa and wellness treatments and entertainment facilities, Amada Colossos has something for everyone.
